News I enjoy working closely with the customers
Nils Lennartsson, Key Account Manager at Skandia Elevator, enjoys helping customers during the full digitalisation process of their grain storage. Now he feels there’s been a shift in the industry where more farmers are becoming interested in working digitally.
Hi Nils! How do you like working at Skandia Elevator?
– I think it’s a fantastic company to work for. It’s fun to work with support, development and be at the front with new products. The customers I meet are often curious and engaged, which I like. As a company, Skandia Elevator is very forward-thinking. So even though it’s an old company we have a very modern mindset.
Can you talk more about this modern mindset?
– We work in a fairly conservative industry. Grain has been harvested for many years. But the products I work with, apart from the machinery, are all in the digital era. We are one of the few companies that work digitally with smart sensors in our equipment.
What is Grain Cloud?
– It’s a database that keeps track of grain, all the way from growing in the field until the bread is made. With our sensors farmers get better control of their harvest. For example, they’re able to see drying time and stock status directly on their phone or computer. It’s been three years since we launched Grain Cloud and we’ve noticed a shift where more farmers in the industry are approaching us, interested to learn more.
You also work as Sales Manager at Liros, what can you tell us about that?
– Liros has hardware that we can connect to Grain Cloud, so we can do things like temperature monitoring and drying control. Among other things, it measures the temperature in the stored grain. That’s an important tool to ensure a maintained quality of the grain before it is sold.
What is the best part of your work?
– I enjoy working closely with the customers. When a customer is looking for something, we can help them by delivering solutions and support throughout the process. I think that’s really great.
